Buncombe County law enforcement officers traded their badges for bathing suits last weekend, plunging into frigid waters to raise funds for Special Olympics North Carolina in an annual tradition that blends community spirit with charitable giving.Officers from the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office joined colleagues from area law enforcement agencies for the Polar Plunge, a fundraising event in which participants brave cold water to support Special Olympics athletes across the state. The event is
